Not all pantos feature this or require it, but when they do you can strike a real comic note with a song by the Dame. If she's trying to capture the heart of someone who is clearly not feeling the same way, or singing to capture the warmth and sympathy of the audience or other characters, your Dame number can be an interesting element to bring into a show.
